 As a destination retreat, we offer you clean, crisp DRY air.  An elevation of over 5,000 feet, and on average there are 226 days of sunshine in Custer, South Dakota, with each night dropping below 65 degrees.


                Custer is located in southeastern area of the Black Hills, known as the “banana belt of the Black Hills”.   There is little congestion, (unless it is Sturgis bike week) & few bugs and if you find a mosquito or tick a drink is on us.

Property Description South Dakota is often referred to as God's country, so traditional values of respect dominate; guns, less government & personal responsibility are part of the culture you’ll find when you visit. The area of The Black Hills with its sacred grounds & wide open spaces is in itself the only island in the United States that has its own unique ecosystem.   Custer is centrally located to all this area has to offer.  This location is just 3 miles east and 2 miles south of downtown Custer.  It is here at this peaceful & private 11 acre residential retreat is a playground for the swanky yet modest for any adventurer who wants to experience the spirit of rural America without giving up the conveniences we so appreciate. Here you will find a refreshing change from overcrowded, highly regulated venues, a safe place, and ideal for families & gatherings.  Our staff, which we consider family, resides locally or on the grounds.  We cater to each of your individual needs while providing a safe and healthy environment for the wellness of yourself / family, friends, & critters.  Photo's of Property

Attractions: This property is ideal to spring board to other points of interest & is without question the perfect getaway, unlike anything else in the Black Hills area.  A Peaceful country setting with scenic roads, with a 1 minute walk to the Black Hills National Forest & fishing in the historic French Creek. 2 miles down the road is wonderful for riding, hiking & biking especially along Glen Erin Rd & around Stockade Lake in Custer State Park or on the paved Mickelson Trail. 5 miles from downtown Custer 30 minutes to: Mount Rushmore & Crazy Horse monuments, Needles Hwy rock formations & Iron Mountain Road with its famous Pigtail bridges. Center, Legion & Sylvan Lake with hiking to Black Elk Peak, along with Wind & Jewel Cave National Park. As well as, the towns of Hot Springs (Mammoth Site & Evans Plunge a hot mineral springs perfect for families & Moccasin Springs for adults. Hill City with great shopping & the Black Hill Institute museum – the original discovery of Sue the T. SEASONAL  ACCOMMODATIONS

Picnic Pavilion w/ Summer Kitchen: This fully furnished Pavilion, shaded by towering Ponderosa pine trees is welcoming & unique. With a semi-enclosed fire place room that has an adobe oven & cooking fireplace. Just outside are portable grills, the cooking fire ring & roasting fire pit. The pavilion has a fully stocked kitchen with two refrigerators (priority to Loft and Cabin guests), three ovens, stove, sinks, microwave, infrared oven, toasters, coffee makers, etc., with comfortable undercover table seating and service for 30, along with a water heater, wringer washing machine & laundry line. The Studio: Is a 30’x 40’ monitor style building that highlights; Post & Beam construction, with a balcony that overlooks the French Creek to the east & a covered porch to the west.   This is a place for relaxation, fitness, gatherings & the healthy healing of mind, body & soul. Games, cards, puzzles, books, movies, music, yoga & any other indoor celebrations / activities are possible.  A Foosball & ping pong table, along with a video & sound system with a dazzling disco ball w/ seating for 50.  With a ramp entrance the studio is perfect for, reunions, weddings (on-site ordained minister is available), anniversary, birthday, parties / dance, tap, yoga, stretch, business, trade, educational. Site Camping: Electricity with 30/50 110 amp services; water hook-up with drive through dump station on site.  12 Spacious, level sites allowing room for cars & trailers. All sights have stunning views spread out over 11 acres. Your site allows you access to all of the guest facilities with horseback riding just out the back gate, offering of miles of trails. Bring leveling blocks, sewer hose, electrical adaptors etc.  If you have guests come to visit, please inform us prior to their arrival.  If they want to use the dump station, garbage facilities, and car charging there will be a fee for them to do so. Photo's of Site Camping 

A-Frame Cabin: This pet friendly cabin has two steps, sleeps 6 in two full & two single beds (one in loft).  Fully furnished, has a heater, toaster oven, mini frig, fan with limited utensils along with a DVD / VHS player with monitor, a wash basin & ice fishing portable potty.  Otherwise, outside 40 feet away is a portable-potty & 150 feet away is the handicap bathroom & Studio. The cabin is 12 feet away from the pavilion, summer kitchen shower & sauna. The sauna, cowboy & outside shower along with the full kitchen are proprietary to Cabin and Loft guests. The Loft: Attached to the B&B Dome the Loft has a private stairway entrance accessible from the lanai into the B&B Dome garage. Sleeps 7 in two queen size & three twin beds.  One open room with a Murphy bed & trundle beds; has heater & fan. TV & Blu ray, a desk & seating for 7 with a drop down table.  Towels, linens, foam & feather pillows.  Large closet with full mirror & mini frig with the half bathroom under the stairway.  The sauna, cowboy & outside shower along with the full kitchen  are proprietary to Loft and cabin guests.  Photo's of the Loft

The RV:  This stationary, beautiful & fully furnished with four steps, sleeps two in one queen bed. Hot & cold water, shower, sink, full kitchen, heater & AC. Older TV with DVD player. Full access to the summer kitchen, pavilion, shower, sauna, handicap bathroom & Studio Photo's of the RV

Equine: No certified hay required for horses. Front shoes or boots are strongly recommended if not all the way around along with bug spray/mask for gnats.  There are two automatic watering posts for horses & five water hydrants with a hose network, making water usage a breeze. In two locations are 8 stalls.  Each stall area has ample turn outs with paddocks ranging in size from 1/3 acre to 2+ acres.  A round pen available & hundreds of miles of riding trails that are one step outside the perimeter fence. Daily Stall Rental: Includes bedding / bucket & turnout with some electric fencing – No horses with sharp shoes allowed in stalls (drill tech).  If you stall your horse, use a hay bag and turn out your equine daily to pick the stall and allow him exercise.  Stalls are to be picked, not stripped before you leave. YEAR-ROUND ACCOMMODATIONS:

Bed & Breakfast (B & B Dome):  Guests can enter through the main front door of the dome, as well as the entrance from the lanai into the dome garage, which has a private stair entrance to the single open room that can sleep 7:  Two queen size beds & three twins (Murphy bed & trundle beds). The room has heater & fan, Smart TV & Blu ray player, a desk with hard wire direct secure Internet connection for computer work.  Has seating for 7 as well as drop down table.  Towels, linens, foam & feather pillows.  Large closet with full mirror & mini frig with the half bathroom either under the stairway access or a same level full bathroom if you are a B & B guest with breakfast served between 6 and 8 AM. May 1st to October 1st, guests will have use of the guest facilities.  From October 2nd to April 15th these guest facilities will be closed.  Photo's of Bed & Breakfast (B&B Dome)

The Meadow View Dome: This country contemporary home with magnificent uninterrupted views is stunning.  With two covered entrances & no steps into the main level makes entering easy.This level has one bedroom with a King bed, Smart TV, closet & ceiling fan.  The bathroom is a no-step shower, soaking tub with a Smart TV, a no-stack washer / dryer, a comfort-height commode with grab bars throughout. The open room kitchen is start-of the-art, with table service, glassware, crockery, cookware along with numerous electric appliances.  Looking out from the kitchen to Grand Room with a 25-foot ceiling and unobstructed views.  Comfortable seating for 8, a Smart TV, dropped ceiling fan, & a roof-top window with remote.  The upstairs loft has a hickory floor, a movable Smart TV, sectional seating (with built in double bed), along with a King-size bed. The bathroom has a comfort-height commode with grab bars throughout.  All white linens & towels are provided with closet space in each bedroom to properly hang clothing. The home has a private secured high-speed fiber optic, Wi-Fi, Blu-ray players, home sound system, AC & heat.  Outstanding cell service is throughout the property with spacious parking for vehicles, including, trailers, RVs, boats, motor cycles, 4 wheelers, etc. Covered parking is available when inclement weather threatens.  When in season, guests will have access to the other guest facilities.   Photo's of the Meadow View Dome

Cancellation Policy: 60 Day Notice – Full Refund, under 60 days – No Refund. Damage deposits returned in full. 
Facilities/Host: Wi-Fi throughout property, 12 electric sites, Picnic Pavilion with a fully stocked summer kitchen, sauna & shower, The Entertainment Studio, 8 Tubs; Full Handicap bathroom, with an A-frame Cabin, RV, Loft and Dome House rental on site. Complimentary for guests; electrical vehicle charging, dump station air, portable dump unit and room cleaning for rental units. Broken or missing items will be charged to guest.  Respect other guests at all times. Our host/hostess or caretaker will be available in the morning and & again in the late afternoon.  They will check equines, remove garbage, compost & clean bathrooms.  They will repair/replace/fix anything that is not working, so report any concerns that you may have 507-276-8571 or leave a note.    
Campfires: Permitted in authorized locations. Campfires must be put out before leaving fire. No garbage is to be burned in any of the fire cooking pits, rings, grills, stoves, or ovens.  To start fires, use pine cones provided.
A-Frame Cabin / Loft:  Bedding & bath towels provided & guests get their own refrigerator in summer kitchen during May 1st to October 1st.
 Horses / Dogs / Cats:  Horses; No stallions.  No tying to gates, fences or round pen.  Tie to rail road or telephone posts. Unload horses on gravel drive. No riding or leading horses through other guests camp sites.   Dogs must be pack-friendly. Aggressive dogs, dogs with a history of biting are not permitted.  Dogs must be under control and quiet at all times.  When there are other guests who are not in your private group, dogs must remain tethered.  For A-Frame cabin guests, dogs and cats must be caged when left alone.  Guests are responsible for their animals & cleaning up after them daily. 
Summer Kitchen / Rental Units & Common Areas:
  Leave the kitchen as you found it – with exception of garbage in the garbage cans, compost, dirty towels.  If you leave the kitchen with burnt, spilt food on the stove, counter, floor, in refrigerator or dishes in sink …NOT GOOD. If there are Loft or Cabin guests, they get one refrigerator, however  if for some reason you need to use it, please check with them.  For rental units:  Leave bedding as is on the beds, just pull up the bed covers and before leaving notify your host that you are ready for a check out. (It is amazing what you may forget to take with you, and if you decide not to check out, items left will not be shipped back).  Common areas are for all guests to enjoy.  Please keep common areas clean and free of personal items.  These areas that are shared with all guests – be mindful and respectful.  Please turn off all lights that you turned on when retiring from buildings.  
Smoking/Vaping: 
No smoking or pets in any buildings (including portable bathrooms) with the exception of the A-Frame Cabin which is pet friendly. However outside, under the pavilion or front porch of the studio you will find ashtrays for your use.
Waste Removal: Please do not throw refuse on the ground, in portable-potties, in horse pastures, or on the lawn.   Depose of waste in proper receptacle bins by north side of A-Frame Cabin.  Use compost container in summer kitchen for all organic scraps. Dog poop can be bagged and put in trash container or use poop fork and place at base of a pine tree.  For horse manure, use compost pile by stall area (wheel barrel and pitch fork is there).
Quiet Hour:  When other guests are sharing the property, the quiet hour is 11:00 pm., unless you are all going to party together.
Security:
  We have a security system in place throughout the property. Please do not tamper with these cameras as they are there for your protection.
    
Expected Behavior:   
This rustic, yet swanky venue is a family friendly retreat. You, your pets & children are your responsibility.  Prepare yourselves for hail, wind, rain, sunshine & fun. Civility & concern for the welfare of yourself and that of other guests is our tradition.  Parents are expected to provide leadership & be an example at all times for minors. This is a health & wellness retreat.  Any behaviors & activities that conflict with our goals will not be tolerated and if need be, guests will be expected to remove themselves. 
Damage deposit: $2,000.00 for events & plus monthly rental on Meadow View Dome.
Extras: We strive in making your stay even more memorable.  We require a 24-hour heads up for scheduling: Trailer of equine's $3.50 per mile. / Swedish / Sports Massage with isolated oils & scents $100.00. / Group or individual meals - $15.00 to $50.00 per person (select meal & menu options). / Sewing – leather – tack repair – clothing – upholstery, shop time $65.00/hr. / Laundry service - $20.00 per load (Free is you do it yourself with wringer-washer, lesson free). / Service Fee for groups over 30 at $10.00 per person per day. / Discounts available for Group & Early Birds who book in the prior year of said reservation.
